I'm currently watching my windows dancing in the breeze...of my closed window! Yes, it seems that my window does not have a good seal in it, thus letting the wind enter. And right now, the breeze entering my room is rather nippy. I dread to think about what it's going to be like this winter! Especially since it's running mid to upper 60's today, the first day of October. And the windows are thin, so I can also hear the music that the person on the floor below me is listening to when their window is open and mine is not. Unfortunately, I don't always like what they're listening to. But at least my window has not let any rain water in yet. I was watching out for that earlier after I discovered that they let in the cold wind.
We're finishing our fifth week of classes and I can say that I have at least seven friends that I didn't know before enrolling at this university, though I use that term loosely. We're friends, but I can't say that we hang out much. In fact, you're more likely to find me parked at my desk, in front of my computer, than hanging out with anyone here. It's not that I don't like people, (well, I don't really, but I do tolerate them) it's just that I have yet to really feel the need to become part of society down here. I'm perfectly fine avoiding everyone. Call me a hermit or whatever if you like, but I'm fine just being here.
Burr!! Stupid wind needs to stop entering through my closed window!
Anyway, I'm getting closer to being used to campus life. I still power walk to class to avoid being outside more than necessary. I'd rather not be snatched on my way to class by a predator anyway. And I do hang out with people when they ask (usually with a guy I knew from high school, whose sexuality I sometimes question) and I actually got food from the student union the other day rather than eat what's in my fridge.
Well, unfortunately, since I'm not doing anything else of vital importance, I should probably start re-reading Wuthering Heights since it's an assignment for Freshman Seminar, rather than type this. So farewell until a later date.
